Good News! Wenzhou University Wins Gold Patent Award of China Again
On 26 July, China National Intellectual Property Administration released the Decision of the China National Intellectual Property Administration on the Awarding of the 23rd China Patent Award, and “The Type of Method and Device for Plane Laser Shock Reinforcement at the Bottom of the Mortise of Aircraft Blade”, a patent led by Professor Wei Xue and with Wenzhou University as the first author, won the Gold Patent Award of China. Statistics shows, amongst all the award-winning patent projects, Wenzhou University ranked third together with Zhejiang University for one Gold Award and two Excellence Awards. This is also the second time we have won Gold Award after we won Gold in the 21st Patent Award of China event. This achievement also made us the only university to win the Gold Award in the name of first author but is not a member of the “Double World-class Universities” project.
The Gold-award winning patent-The Type of Method and Device for Plane Laser Shock Reinforcement at the Bottom of the Mortise of Aircraft Blade-is jointly developed by the research team led by Professor Wei Xue from our university together with research teams from Jiangsu University and Southeast University. Currently this patented technology has been successfully utilized in a number of organizations and institutions including AECC Shenyang Liming Aero Engine Co., Ltd. and Shenyang Aircraft Industry (Group) Co., Ltd.. This device is leading the technological development in the field of laser reinforcement manufacturing-a core component of high-end equipment in China and has greatly enhanced the progress of aviation manufacturing industry, met the needs of major engineering projects in China, and also has substantially increased our international competitiveness.
